Grease baking dish well with olive oil and butter. Preheat baking sheet or pan in the oven. Sift together flour, baking powder and nutmeg. Beat eggs and milk well, add butter, salt and pepper. Add little by little flour, mixing well. Whisk the batter until smooth. Remove baking dish from the oven, sprinkle on a layer of breadcrumbs and pour the batter. Lay the cheeses on top of the batter. For a more attractive finish, beat an egg white with a tablespoon of water and brush over top. Bake the cheese pie for 20 minutes at 170 degrees.
The traditional cheese pie without filo pastry is high in complex carbohydrates, fiber, a number of vitamins, such as B-complex vitamins, and trace elements, such as manganese. The addition of milk, yoghurt and feta cheese increases the levels of animal protein and calcium.
