Corn is a tall plant with a solid stem. Corn is a main food source. It is used in bread making while cornstarch is used in confectionery. Corn oil is a widely used vegetable oil although in Messinia olive oil is more popular.

NUTRITIONAL VALUE

Corn is considered a valuable food because it belongs to starchy vegetables. It is rich in antioxidants and fiber and hence has significant positive health effects. More specifically, because corn contains potassium, it can improve blood pressure. Corn has antioxidants such as carotenoids and vitamins C and E.
